Scoala Gimnaziala Berchisesti is a public school situated in Suceava, in Bukovina region, a place on the northern slopes of the central Eastern Carpathians, in Romania. It offers full education to primary and elementary students, aged from 6 to 15 years old, in order to acquire knowledge and skills, promoting self-reliance and encouraging respect and appreciation through a variety of learning experiences.
We have 30 fully-qualified teachers and 366 students, almost 40% of them being Romani. They are integrated among the other students in our school which provides inclusive access to equal opportunities in education. Promoting equal chances for Romani students in education and creating a non-selective and non-discriminatory education system based on acknowledging the diversity of ethnic values and culture are fundamental steps of ensuring a healthy multicultural society.
